New Jeff Berlin Interview in Bass Frontiers....

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi All,
I thought I'd share this interview I did with Jeff Berlin for Bass Frontiers Magazine. Enjoy!
http://www.bassfrontiersmag.com/jeff...ed-by-roy-vogt
I did notice that there are some paragraphs that are repeated, but they should be removed quickly. Please excuse them for now.
Sorry, I've been really busy with Belmont (3 faculty concerts in 5 weeks-Yow!) and getting ready to play The Low Show in LA at The Baked Potato on Oct. 21st-just before Bass Player Live. I'll be a more active participant after that's gone.
Peace and Low Notes,
Roy

Best interview of Jeff I've ever seen. Not all full of the same-as-usual Jeff answers/questions.

The interviewer makes all the difference!

Fine work Roy.

Thank you for the BP article. Did you notice that I shared an anecdote of the effect on one of my students of the chord tone exercises?

Thanks, and yes, I did notice it! It really made my day.

I probably got the article out to just over 200 people here. In fact, after a lull of a couple of months, I got another 2 requests for the article last week.

That simple article took my playing in a completely different, and better direction. I've dug hard into the Chord Studies for Bass book, and also have dug into Carol Kaye's chord study materials as well. It's a lifetime of learning for sure, but it's worth it.

thanks for the interview, I had to go out to Amazon and download the record and man is it great.

Question - Aren't the Yellowjackets on Heads Up and not Head First or am I missing something.

You're right-Heads Up it is. I'll have them edit that. I'm so glad it's online and not in print.

I don't mean it snidely when I say it was good to read an interview that wasn't fawning over him or just him bitching. I enjoyed it, good job Roy.

Great interview and full of great stuff, well done Roy it was like eaves dropping in on a conversation between to great players rather than a "promotion" exercise with the usual things to push.
This is the side of Jeff that needs to be heard more.
