Hey Ed, how are things going? Stopped playing with that trio and now working in a 7 piece variety act, horns B3 and stuff.

Man, that was a nice little trio, I especially enjoyed playing with your drummer .... trios like that give a bassist a lot of room to wander around (and we both take full advantage of that, huh? )

Things are good, slowed down the gigging a lot & only doing jazz dates now .... getting too old for the 3-4x a week gear lugging. Send me some links of the new 7 piece when you get a chance ....

The drummer and I both had fun with that gtrst, but went on to other things. I like the trio setting as well. Tonight I'm doing a jazz duo with a cat that uses midi kalimba and a Handsonit through looping and gtr effects (craziness)... I'll hopefully post some Vids on FB for you.

That is cool that you are doing more jazz these days, I bet you are enjoying that. Hope your wife's biz is doing well and let me know when you are back in Richmond again.

V 2.0 should have been subtitled "Hear comes the flood...". Hope everyone is doing OK with the round two we experienced this week.

North Jersey's favorite

Down here in the "normal accent" part of the state, we generally prefer Case's

Still made in the 'Burg, too, in a little commercial building tucked away among the rowhouses on Washington St. The "factory" (such as it is) is just to the left of their massive fleet of delivery trucks shown in the pic, a short walk from the slaughterhouse/butcher shop (Italian for many years, but now Halal) where that bull jumped the fence and went wandering around the neighborhood a few years ago

Either way you slice it, REAL Pork Roll is made in Trenton. Don't be fooled by that pathetic fraud manufactured across the river in Pennsy by a firm whose name I shall never dignify by spelling it out or even speaking aloud

Accept no substitutes, beware of imitations

Ahhh, Case's is good, no question, but you have to slice it a LOT thinner than Taylor's. I think Taylor packs in the toxins a little more than Case so you can cook it a bit thicker and still get good grease. In my experience, with Case the slices need to be very thin to get a dignified grease level ....

In any event, they are both far superior to bacon ...

Whaaaatttt? I had no idea that noxious stuff was local. (by "noxious", I mean "tastes too good). I was in a kosher deli in Livingston, and someone tried to order a "Taylor Ham and Cheese". I can't remember the exact response to their "ah, no.", but it was something like "Taylor Ham actually has pork in it?".

Natw42: All good from the rain this week. Irene Crossroads gig rescheduled for Friday the 23rd, plus picked up "headlining" the Morristown Green Film Festival reschedule next Saturday, 9/17. So Irene sort of worked out, musically at least! Will have pics from both, and supposedly semi-pro video from the Morristown thing. Laklands will be in full effect...

Man, I used to eat 3-4 Taylor sandwiches a day, sometimes I'd have one with my scrapple in the mornings! Prolly explains why I'm fat, lol...
