Hey, everyone -

There are two upcoming events to help benefit victims of Hurricane Sandy in & around the greater Belmar area. If any of you could attend one (or better yet both ) of these it would be greatly appreciated.

“10th Avenue Freeze Out: Rebuilding Belmar” will be taking place this coming Saturday, November 24th, 2-8pm. Most of the local restaurants & bars will be taking place in the event. Opening ceremony is from 2 p.m. – 3 p.m. at Pyanoe Plaza (9th and Main). A $20.00 (per person) donation gets you two drink tickets and a free buffet…plus free admission to all bars. Participating bars include Bar Anticipation, Boathouse, 507 Main, Connolly Station, Nicchio, and Jack’s Tavern. Entertainment throughout the day and night with acts like Pat Roddy, Brian Kirk & The Jirks, Cari Fletcher, Mike Dalton, Billy Lawlor, Charlotte Sometimes, After the Reign and my band (Joe Baracata Band, which will be playing at the Boathouse). Here is the Facebook link for all the details:

https://www.facebook.com/10thAvenueF...buildingBelmar

“BelmarPalooza” will be taking place all the following weekend (Friday, November 30th – Sunday, December 2nd). Per their Facebook page:

We are planning a blow the doors off the roof fundraiser to help those that have been most affected by Hurricane Sandy in the Belmar area.

Still working on the band & entertainment schedule but we have confirmations already from DJ Jersey Joe, Pat Roddy, Joe Baracata Band (I believe we will be playing Saturday evening @ 507 Main), Enjoy, The Snakes, DJ Kel, E Street Shuffle, Mike Dalton, Rory Daniels, DJ A.K. & many more to be added to the list.

Tons of support already from the local beer & liquor companies .. We will start this event at 507 Main & Boathouse on Friday night and restart it on Saturday Night & Sunday and roll it all day & night.

We are raising money and also doing a toy drive for kids in Lake Como & Belmar ...

Here’s their Facebook link:

Thanks in advance for any support you may be able to provide & I hope to see you there... I'll be the guy w/ the Fender P5!

Sure, Tom!

I don't think we're doing the regular ol' three 45 minute set kinda night (maybe an hour or so, with all the other bands involved?), but you're more than welcome to come up & sit in!

Lookin' forward to seeing ya - last time was when you bought that Brute off of me (I like to think that I had a small part in starting you on your Brubaker journey! ).

My band, Joe Yello Band has been in the studio working on a 6 song EP. Here is a sample of what we have been doing, it is called "I'm a Punk"

http://soundcloud.com/joeyelloband/i...-studio-master

I usually play guitar in this band, but I got to play bass, guitar and sing this time. A lot of work, but a lot of fun too.

Hope you dig it.

If anyone is down in the Cape May area tomorrow (Friday) there is a Sandy benefit scheduled at Cabanas from 5pm to 10pm or so, buffett dinner, entrance fee $5. About 4 bands playing. The Geno White Trio goes on at about 9pm, my bass instructor plays with that group. I'll be there to take photos and videos as well as cheer the bands on, plus Cabanas sets out a pretty tasty table. Come on down if you are in the area!

Routing a bridge J pickup

Hey All,

Happy Belated Thanksgiving!!

Does anyone know of a good luthier/tech that does pickup routing for a decent price in the northern NJ area? I have a Squier VM P bass which I'd like to add a J bridge pickup.

Thanks,

Phil

I used Dave's Sound in Whippany NJ - Bill is the guitar guy and he worked on my Geddy and did a great job (routed a hole to the truss rod + a set up) and Dave is the amp guy and fixed my old Hartke combo. They do great work. IMHO

I'd also endorse Daves sound. I had a guitar that the neck essentially snapped off. They fixed it up and it's like nothing happened. I'd use them alot more if it was closer to me.
