You couldn't ask for a nicer guy. And if you listen to what he says on Pt 2 about the complexity of his parts and how they are structured, it's just so refreshing. No ego, no circus, just a fella who tried to fill an important role to bring out the rest of the rest of the band. +1 to MA!!!!!

He does his best to say as few negative things about Van Halen as possible. I've always like Mike. Van Halen was the band that I more or less came of age to. Now, I'm pumped to hear this Chickenfoot album! |

That gets my respect, let alone his contribution to the VH sound.

2 songs are up. his bass is a lot higher in the mix than on VH albums.

I'll have to get that album, too. |

He really seems content with where he is in life, with the balance he's been able to maintain between his career and being grounded in family, and with his desire to avoid the circus that has become, for better or worse, VH. I hope the new gig means some fun summer touring for those cats.

Lonnybass | Well said. Ever notice, the dude's always smiling!
The Chickenfoot stuff sounds good, not earth shattering or genre defining, but that's OK. It's kick ass music and the bass is prominent! |

Got dumped on, kicked out, and they even tried to erase his contributions to the very history of VH. Instead he goes out his way not to slag anyone and puts together a kick a$$ band to boot. Although it wouldn't surprise me if EVH came out and said the whole thing sounds like a VH copy BECAUSE of MA's backing vocals.

I've come to really dislike the way the others treated Michael Anthony. As it sits now, its seems that he and Sammy are the only ones who truly made themselves happy with rock 'n roll.
Anyone who loves Van Halen will always list MA's backing vocals as one of the high points of the band, not to mention the constant driving backbone that he always laid down. I'm very happy for him and the rest of Chickenfoot. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
