Im a newbie bass player......and i been a member in this website for bout a month....and several times i have heard the name Jaco come up......im jus waiting for somebody to bitch me out for not knowing who this person is just like the whole anti tab thing.....but im wonderin who Jaco is and where i could hear his stuff

Jaco Pastorius is one of THE bass pioneers. A good way to be introduced to Jaco is to buy his self-titled debut solo album on CD from 1976 (it goes for quite cheap). Pay attention to "Portrait of Tracy" and "Continuum".
