I've been listening to alot of the newer funk and soul. ( Dap kings , budos band , amy winehouse.) This guys name has been popping up alot. He is a great groover with both Amy Winehouse and the band The Mighty Imperials. He also plays on a few tracks of Mark Ronson's album. There is next to nothing on the internet about him though. Ive seen some pictures of him playing what looks like a Gibson Ripper but it doesn't have the same headstock.

He's currently playing live with The Black Keys and is fantastic! The bass lines on Winehouse's record are killer! Definitely one of my favorite bassist! He's been using a 60's Fender Mustang, what looks like a Fender Pino Custom Shop and his Gibson Ripper with the band.

Phenomenal stuff.
