Nigel Griggs (Split Enz)

I really like Nigel Grigg's bass sound. Especially on the last Enz album 'See Ya Round' where his bass is exceptionally punchy. Does anybody know what bass Nigel used on 'See Ya Round'?

Probably a Spector on that album.

toss up between the Spector and his Mockingbird. i'm really partial to his Ric sound from Dizrythmia.

check out vids of his live performances. he has a unique picking style. he doesn't anchor his hand and pick, at times he seems to be almost strumming. i wonder how he got such great individual note clarity when it looked like he was hitting all four strings at once.
at any rate he has a very animated right hand and this has always seemed to me to be the crux of his tone/style.

fairly good example
