Spent last night at the Victor Wooten bass clinic in Melbourne; any other TBr's there or, at any of the other Australian events? Care to share your thoughts?
I found him to be an incredibly humble and inspirational person, I learnt allot and to my surprise, not just about playing bass…
Here’s a picture from last night. |

I really like the the Stevie Wonder song "Overjoyed" That he does solo on bass. He taps the hole thing. It is amazing!!

| | | Hey All,
Khaled, Egypt? Hey you never know your luck in a big city...
Clefface, I found out about the clinic through the website of my local bass shop, ( www.basscentre.com.au) it was organised by a company called Thump Music with whom Mark Puric is associated.
As for lessons learned, there was quite allot for one evening, much of which dealt with losing baggage and forgetting the bass, so as to free yourself to play music...
Not sure I am getting the concept across and I could not possibly summarise it here. I am not normally the kind of person to do the whole DVD learning thing, but I will be seeking out some of Victor’s DVD’s and also books. |

| | | | Victor Hey Clefface,
First part of the night was Victor playing, then he opened up for questions and the evening was very interactive. He got one guy up and playing his bass to demonstrate his theory on ignoring the bass in order to free your self to play music, it was really cool.
There was only two rules, no filming video (stills were cool) and no playing your bass during the session, which is fair enough as it would make it hard to hear questions and answers.
As requested, a couple more pics: |

| | | | The best part of Victor to me isn't his bass playing, which i like a lot by the way
but his view on life and he seems to always be himself. |

Being at peace with ones self makes it easier to put the Self aside while making room for the higher state of being to come in and steal the Cheetos!
2 ohm or not to 2 ohm.
Last time I saw him in performance was with his brother Regi (The Teacher) in Toronto...it was a spiritual experience!
