Nobody talking 12/12/12 concert?

Wow, I thought there would surely be a thread going about this show. Willie Weeks, Pino, Macca all playing- and where are all the posts saying how awful everybody is and that all the old people should just give it up?

You didn't look very hard.

The Who should give up. The other old folks did pretty good. Does Bon Jovi age?

Nev375 12-12-2012 09:07 PM

With Kristin Stewart introducing him, I'm starting to think he's one of them twilight vampires.

I thought Pino did great, Roger Daltry was a disappointment though.

I liked Vedder singing with Waters.

He likes fish sticks.

It was nice of Stephen Colbert to take Michael Stipe down off his trophy shelf and bring him to the show.

With the mixture of chemicals that has flowed through his veins, he is probably already already embalmed.

Most excellent post.

Pretty boring - great cause but lousy production. Especially when they pan the audience and all you see are suits.

NYCbassist 12-12-2012 11:02 PM

Okay, I know it's pretty late but Man oh Man The Who Rocked it. Pino Palladino is living My Dream. He's Da Man And nothing you can say could change my mind. Roger's Still got it!!

Kenzy 12-12-2012 11:10 PM

Hmm... I'm regretting the fact that I didn't watch now... footage will probably turn up on the interwebs at some point though, surely..?

cire113 12-12-2012 11:14 PM

What???
I thought they sucked!
You should have seen them in the 60's and 70's
Pete playing a Strat sounded bad doing songs he did on a LP. He faked the pinwheels.
Rodger's voice is shot.
Pino sounds nothing like John
and they had to play videos of Kieth in the background?????

I have loved them sense the '60 but it is time for them to park it.

rapidfirerob 12-12-2012 11:24 PM

Had no interest in this concert. I am glad they're raising lots of money certainly. I'm seeing The Who Feb. 1 in Oakland. The rest of the bands don't interest me. If Mick Taylor played with The Stones, I would have checked it out, but I don't believe he did. I saw a few seconds of Kanye flipping channels. Sad people listen to and buy this crap.

I took the Keith moon Part as a tribute to him and nothing more. It did leave me wondering why there was no video of J.E. Though. Yes it was not the '70's show but I truly enjoyed it.:) Oh, and Clapton did great too. All that sound with only 3 people on stage. I Tivo'd the whole thing and still have the last hour to watch.

Kenzy 12-13-2012 12:16 AM

And Paul McCartney filled in for Kurt Cobain, right? I'm curious as to how that went down (if it actually did..?).
