I wanted to put this out to Norm and share my experience from this weekend as well. Anyways, after my week of corporate work, and sleeping for all of two hours on Friday night, headed out to Michigan for a Saturday night gig, great show, and drove all night to get back to Chicago. My guitar player plays service Sunday mornings. One hour of sleep Saturday night. I guess I headed out to go mt. Biking, Sunday morning(bear with me I'm getting to the point). Somehow I ended up at willow creek, hadn't been there in twenty years. I looked like crap all red-eyed from sleep deprivation. Come to find out Lincoln brewster whom I had never heard of was performing with mr. Norm Stockton. I have to say there music and message was nothing short of amazing, and if you think of having an amazing impact on a persons life, I was blown away. I have to thank you guys from the bottom of my heart, I have never had any musician including the best of the best have that sort of impact on my life. Thank You. B.

Norm is one of my favorite bassists and currently the one I try to emulate in both technique and spirituality. I recently got the 1st groovin for heaven DVD and even though it was more aimed at beginners, I did get a little out of it. Norm is fantastic but because he is a Christian musician, does not get the earthly recognition he should.

I recently attended one of his free bass clinics in St. Louis. He has great playing style to try to emulate (not copy). He is a great, open, caring, sharing individual. Only about 15 people showed up!? We need more people like him in the world in general. Anyway, well worth the drive to get to his clinics.
I went through his first instructional video. It's really easy and has a lot of great tips. I'm ready for the second one about modes and I'm pretty sure it's going to be more challenging for me but I'm willing to put in the time.

Check out his website: normstockton.com

Check out his solo CDs. The second one has a killer cover of Sunday Bloody Sunday with an amazing seven string solo.
