Correction Locrian is the 7th mode of major, however I was actually referring to the 2nd mode of Melodic minor, which is usually referred to as a Phrygian #6 mode, or you can look at it as a Dorian b9, so we both or correct. I still hear the mode of A Locrian in one of the modes he chose. Quote:

I agree that wank solos aren't all that awesome, but let me tell you this. My current bass teacher, Dr. Marcos Machado, I one of the damn finest players I've ever heard on any instrument, and I've heard him wank his ass off before. Sheehan does not get paid to go up there and play a tasty little solo over rhythm changes. He's there to get the 16 years olds off. And just cause he doesn't know theory doesn't mean he sucks. He would be a better, more rounded player, maybe, but he is a good player and a great entertainer.
And, yes, i agree that the original poster was just trying to point out that he does very VERY often wank. But he wanks so goooooood... | |

Wankery, to me, is long excessive playing, as fast and flamboyant, or bad (in Nikki six's case) as you can with little reguard to a song structure or other people who are bored stiff.
Musical gymnastics that is more for sport or a carnival, any instrument, or player. |

If you start a thread like this,a very friendly thread,it somehow turns into a FLAME thread.People start to flame the bassist you talk about and it gets out of control.Seen it thousand times.
