i picked it up on tuesday although I had heard it before, and it's an excellent album! it's different from Bedlam, but I'm digging it a lot! and there is some very cool bass work on it! Looks like I have some new stuff to learn! thanks Juan!

I'm a huge fan of your work and The Mars Volta, and I definitely like this album more than I liked Bedlam. I've always been a fan of your older stuff, but this new album nice, with its head in the right place. It emotes just as much as De-Loused and Frances the Mute, but in a different manner. Make sure to keep it coming!

I went to Best Buy soon as it opened Tuesday, and they didn't even have it out!? I made them check in their warehouse and they came out with an unopened box of them!
So I got the first one!
I like it alot, very different!
Cotopaxi is my new favorite song! Awesome job!

I appreciate it!

I am very proud of this record. I got to play a lot of fretless which always makes me super happy.

I am curious as to what Best Buy didn't have it out. I want to sick Warner Brothers on them!

Juan

I love this Album and I especially like your place in the mix along with Thomas. You guys are groove central.

BTW...the show in Ventura, CA, was my first time seeing you guys live and you delivered 150%!

I loved you fretless work on "Agadez".
And my favorite cut on Octahedron has got to be "Desperate Graves".

This album made me fall in love with them again. Omar is an amazing composer. He writes 7 solo albums, 2 albums with Zach Hill, 5 Mars Volta albums and STILL doesn't sound over played and still creates new and exciting music.

My only problem is that this was the only album where the kick was very present and it's a slower album.

But Desperate Graves and Copernicus are amazing.

EDIT: And since context clues lead me to believe Juan himself is in here...Your work with TMV has influenced my playing incredibly and I want that lakland signature bass of yours to come out.

Juan, the fretless is amazing. Especially on the bridge of "Desperate Graves". "Teflon" is my favorite song off of the album. I pre-ordered it on iTunes, and got the live version of "Cotopaxi". It's better than the studio version.

Just out of curiosity, were you playing a Darkstarred fretless Lakland? The fretless during the bridge of "Desperate Graves" blew my mind.

I love Juan's playing. I think he's possibly the most underrated bassist going these days. As for TMV, I love Juan's playing

Just kidding...I actually like some of TMV's stuff. Sometimes it's grating, but sometimes it's very interesting. Nobody can accuse them of selling out to the Man, that's for sure!
