there is a terrible thing that happens to a bass player every once in a while when they witness an idol fall from grace
when i was about 17 a friend of mine introduced me to billy sheehan and i thought WOW he's doing that on bass !!!!
now by accident i stumble on this and pretty much 80% of the respect i had for billy sheehan has now gone
great bass player or not the guy needs a padded cell and a trip to the funny farm i feel embarrassed watching him squirm i thought a man like him would have more sense ah well the bigger they are etc
watch mr BIG fall: epic fail!!! http://es.youtube.com/watch?v=dQZxv1...eature=related

So what's the difference here?

i always viewed him as an "on the level" kinda guy but now it appears his level involves volcanos, aliens and stupid alien names and i'm sorry shallow as it sounds i cant hold a as much respect for the man as i did he's in the same boat as david beckham and tom cruise the boat is labeled "HMS gullible as pig ***t" and it sails on the oceans of the "no common sense" which crosses the "dude seriously?" reef
great bassist or not i think he needs new friends before he ends up like mr jackson

Besides, there's probably ALOT of skeletons in all our heros/influences closets, I don't pay any mind to any of that.
Take for example MJ, I don't pay any mind to him, other than he's a good writer/singer.

Whats the difference. He's always been polite and cordial to me when Ive talked to him. We used to spend a ton of time hanging with him and Talas as teens when they toured Upstate NY in the early '80s. Never blew us off, talked to us. Never mentioned his religious beliefs to us or pushed them on us. Just talked music and let us fiddle with his Old P bass!! Cool dude, regardless of what his personal beliefs are

no discredit to him as a musician, but this (if we can even call it) religion isnt so much upsetting me as it is other people, but comical. i didnt think people actually believed it.. but they do. so long as they arent committing crimes in the name of their beliefs, i dont really care WHAT they do. he made it clear that the law comes first.

I don't see what's any more loonie about "volcanos, aliens and stupid alien names" in comparison to magical zombie man-god hybrids and talking snakes (to name a few random judeo-christian beliefs). Is your issue with him that he's religious, or you simply don't like his personal set of magical beliefs?
