My CD was reviewed and it was classified as "Metal Surf." I never heard that before, but I think I like it! http://reverbcentral.com/reviews/m/montana8208.html
Basically, I just did old 60's guitar instrumentals with more pronounced bass. Here's some samples for anyone who's interested. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rgP1tSGV4e0 |

I think they mean more of a Maiden/Priest slant -- which is heavier than the genre usually indicates. It's cool though. It was intended to have more edge and more pronounced bass. |

| | | | Alright, so we agree that it isn't metal.
It's still good, though. You down for some constructive criticism?

| | | | Not metal, but well done! The twangy reverb and the guitar and bass lines have nothing to do with metal, but it's definitely surf. And I like it! Very nice my friend. |

Surf...
What constitutes a metal surfer, do you suppose? A surfer who wears a leather wetsuit? A surfer who is surly and rude to other surfers?

Thanks bro. It's funny, a lot of these tunes really have nothing to do with surf or beach music but all that early instrumental guitar music wound up with that heading. I just dig the stuff and wanted to do it using my own arrangements with the bass up front. |

I'm still down to hear the feedback. Seriously. I actually like constructive criticism. (Blatant negativity sucks but I feel that is someone can comment on specifics that means they listened and thought about it). | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
