Does anybody know what effects were used in the song "Dead Mans Party" ? And what kind of bass was used.

Thanks
Shaun

Actually, this is a good place to begin talking about two very fine bassists with one of the most unique and kick-a**bands of all-time. Kerry Hatch had a great tone on the early recordings and was a great player. John Avila, who replaced him, is a talent monster. I tried to contact him several times to get him to come visit with us but have been unsuccessful. John played keyboard bass on "Dead Man's Party." I must have see them over half-a-dozen times and every time he played keys. I would imagine an envelope filter would get you close!

Boingo..My all time favorite band!Avila and Hatch are great bassists.
And I doubt they will get back together. They broke up in 95'
and Danny Elfman has said many times they are done...

BTW..Folmeister is right about the synth bass on DMP..

And here's a pic of John with some serious bass face...
