That was nice. I remember those old Ibanez basses with a MM/J pickup arrangement which is like current Warrior basses. Fred Hammond got an era appropriate chunky, P-bass sort of slap tone with it.

I also have to say that I cannot play anything like Fred Hammond, but our waistlines have taken a similar journey over the years!

That was an Ibanez? I was trying my best to see what kind of bass that was, I have always been curious what basses he played back in the eairly days. I Thought for sure he was playing something with Bart pups in them, if you listened to the songs like "lord Jesus help me to help somebody" "no more loneliness" etc...the bass has that thick bart sound. JUst never new which brand he was playing.

I'm not certain, but that bass looks like an Ibanez Musician. I saw Bill Dickens play one with Ramsey Lewis back in the day. Nice bass!!!

Bill even had a martin bass for a while, but yes looks like an ibanez here too. Wish my dad still has his studio 8.
