I will more than likely live in Hillsboro the rest of my life.

Really, politics in general disgust me and I've had issues with them in every state I've lived in (which is a lot.) I guess you are never going to be 100% happy and satisfied with any place or political circumstances.
I do see, however, how many other parts of the state might be a little resentful of Portland's huge voter base. From what I've seen, it would appear that many areas of Oregon don't necessarily share political ideologies with Portland in general.
That's not a judgement call on either "side" of the issue.

I'm really apolitical anyway. As you and Kinetic Shadow say, they tend to detract from actually living and enjoying life when I think about them at any length.
Heck, I don't trust any politicians or parties really. *zippers mouth shut on subject henceforth*

Our self-proclaimed number-giver-outer has seemingly vanished! I don't even remember exactly what number he had given me - #27, I think. All his posts in thread are gone...

And I see myself living in Oregon for the rest of my life. Maybe not Portland area though, the weather I crap around here:P southern Oregon looks pretty good.

This is what I found, there are some definite gaps. For those that have been visiting recently and know your number, it would help if you could reply with your number so we (and I mean all of us that are still here) can work together to get going again. I will update this list as members post their info. Again, not taking over, just helping out the club. Thanks.

I've been around the state to an extent, but I haven't hit these two towns yet. I hear good things about Medford.
I also want to check out the Wallowa Mountains up in the NE corner of Oregon. They are called the "Oregon Alps" and I hear they are breathtakingly beautiful. There's nothing but very small towns around that area though...Joseph and Enterprise are the main ones I believe. Not a lot of avenues for making a good living from a jobin the region but I hope to check it out someday. So far when we take a little trip, it's always to the coast...Rockaway or Lincoln City. We were landlocked for so long being at the ocean is like a spiritual colonic.
Sorry to keep getting off the topic of music. I just have a love affair going on with Oregon.
I know--I need a small practice amp! What do you think--one of those little Acoustic brand 10-watters or the Ampeg BA-108?

Glad you had a list.

Maybe you and I can sit down and talk about Oregon someday. Been here all my life and know nearly every corner of this state. I have stories and sights I can share.

What do you think--one of those little Acoustic brand 10-watters or the Ampeg BA-108? | Yeah I love the mountains to no end (avid mountain biker and photographer) but the weather bugs the crap outta me. If it was constant rain (for a majority of the year) I'd be fine. If it was constant sun (for more a majority of the year) I'd be fine. But changing weather every 10 minutes gets annoying to me. Although, I adopted the "oregonians don't use umbrellas" policy early on haha.
And we visit the coast a lot. My grandma lives in Florence, so we have an excuse to go to the beach often absolutely beautiful coastlines in this state.
And what do you guys suggest in terms of flatwound strings? I've only ever owned fender flats and want to experiment a little bit. I play rock, worship and jazz on my Schecter stiletto (2 humbuckers active electronics).

I go up to Wallowa Lake twice a summer for a Brass camp and a Woodwind camp I have been a part of for almost 10 years... Absolutely sunningly breathtakingly beautiful. And yeah, hard to make a living out there... Joseph is a cool little town... I love the drive out each time.

If they don't have them they may know where to get 'em.
Good luck.
