Origin of the Low C# String

Sign in to disble this ad
Bassist Anthony Jackson is credited with developing the first electric 6-string bass and the low B string and Jimmy Johnson was one of the earliest users of
this low B string.

Stanley Clark gave the bass world the
first Piccolo electric bass (a 4-string electric bass
tuned an octave higher than standard bass) and bassist
Bill Dickens gave us the first low F# bass string.

Now the bass world has a low C# string. According to my research, bassist Jauqo III-X was the originator.

Any additional info on this topic is greatly appreciated.

Yes, Jauqo's .195 C# string also makes for a mighty fine C0 down to Bb00 string as well. I recorded with it last year and it is quite useful.
If you are interested in some other factual info, please PM me.
