prolly his modulus 6 and 5 strings. he had an artist model for the longest time

i don't think so... the sound is too organic, o'm guessing either the fodera 6 or roscoe 6

I believe he was playing Modulus basses at that point in time; and right, NJL, he did have a semi-hollow Modulus Artist Model, too.
Recently, it's been a Fodera.
FWIW, I think I still prefer him with his early '80s blonde Fender Jazz.

the organic sound may have been from the B15 he tends to use in the studio

He still uses the Modulus sometimes, it's the bass he uses in the Vida-Blue DVD.
