First Phil, now Oteil - who's next?
Oteil in with Umphrey's
Cross-pollination once again played a key role in Umphrey's McGee's weekend plans. At Bogart's in Cincinnati, Ohio this past Saturday, Brad Myers and Nick Blasky (Ray's Music Exchange) replaced guitarist Brendan Bayliss and bassist Stasik for a take of the live staple "Jazz Odyssey." Second set, Stasik once again handed over his bass, this time to Oteil Burbridge for a jam leading out of "Professor Wormbog."
Umphrey's McGee is off the road until December 1 when the group will play Blue Cats in Knoxville, Tennessee. In the meantime, Umphreaks can check out drummer Kris Meyers' Drop Q tomorrow at HotHouse in Chicago, IL.
