Oteil sits in w/The Lee Boys last night!!

A cat that I gig with every now and then, books Oteil and the Peace Makers and the Lee Boys (also Vic as well), asked me to bring/set up an Epifani rig for Oteil. Since the Allman Brothers Band played at Chastain last night, after that show he wanted to sit in with The Lee Boys at Smith's Olde Bar here in Atlanta. If you haven't heard them, you need to. They play very upbeat blues based gospel music called Sacred Steel, like in the same vein as Robert Randolph and The Campbell Brothers.

... So, of course, I brought my camera.

First, here's the Lee Boys, Led by Derrick:

w/Alvin on a midi Fender Strat:

w/Lil' Al on a 7 String Billy Dickens Conklin:

w/Earl on Drums:

... and Roosevelt on Pedal Steel:

Man, I can't tell you how high energy this show was!!!

Just awesome! It is always good to see anything with Oteil. Thanks for sharing the pics, and for the lead on checking out the Lee Boys.

What a night. Will definitely look up the band. Would love to have seen Warren and Oteil jamming. Oteil can use my Epi rig anytime he's up here. It could use more mojo.
