Just noticed Otiel Burbridge in the movie "Being There" this morning. Thought he looked familiar and it just dawned on me who it was. |

Who's in the movie, and when's it from? I don't think I've ever heard of it! |

Otiel has a speaking part in a scene as part of a gang in DC. Looked like he may have been 14 or so. He has a credit at the end. |

That's cool, Brad...I saw that flick in '80.
I was told about that scene when I got to know him in '84(the teeth give him away!).
Let's see, I think Oteil was born in '64(roughly 15-16 when Being There came out).
And I think the leader of that gang has my last name(if I recall the end credits).
BTW, I was told Oteil was the 'host' of some kid-type show in DC back around '80 or so...

Or maybe he saw Jesus do it on tv? | ......yeah, I think SMASH nailed it(& VooDoo, too).
In any event, he was a lock to be the next Presidente.
Funny scene-
Chauncy gave Jack Warden's President character a need for the BLUE PILL...too bad it was invented yet.

| | | | I like how/where Deodato's cover of Strauss' "Also Sprach Zarathustra" was used...that's Ron Carter takin' that 'short brief solo', I believe.
(The tune may be found on Prelude by Deodato...a Creed Taylor production).

| | | | Rats...it does sound like Clarke on URB.
And it is(I just pulled the album from the shelf).
Ron Carter also plays on Prelude, though it is SC doing the solo on "Also Sprach...".
