Here in NYC, it's on right now.
EDIT: Didn't notice you were in Ohio. Check MTV now, I'm watching it as I type this and it's the second (new) episode.

Im gonna Tivo it and just speed thru all the B.S with diddy and
just concentrate on the players. I liked that latina. It was sad
they thought she didnt hit hard enough...she had great groove and time and they
could always mike her drumset. | She couldn't execute what they wanted at the level they asked, she seemed well studied but at a certain point you have to play and she needs to do some GIGS to get her playing to the next level.

I think they're taking the wrong approach though. And that 'big boy' drummer.....while he's really good, all he did was 'shed'! I never heard him play a steady solid groove. The cat who plays drums/keys and got picked to play keys got switched over to drums. He may make a mark.

I was glad that they made them show some foundational musical skill's, those are the things that really make the difference between someone who plays a instrument and a musician

I plan to check it out myself instead of watching so much MSNBC.

| | | | I caught this over the weekend. really cool look at the old cattlecallsauditions I used to go to in NYC back in the late 80's.
The kid Jamareo was tasty and played some nice stuff and while im not trying to be over critical But He was really all over the time. hes young- get that kid a metronome and hell be a monster in no time.
The changes were kinda Jazzy Eb, Cm7 , B7 ( If I recall)
Makes playing something melodic a little trickier without sounding like your playing a key change over every change- cool that a 19 year old understands how to play over those changes well.
Loved that he was staying old school with the p bass when everone else was playing the Newer stuff.
2 standouts for me Blake on Guitar (sunglasses, rockabilly shirt and a strat) that guy was tearing it up and played great stuff.
Christopher on Drums (heavyset Black kid) great sense of the groove and pocket, great chops . Overplayed a little but can be reelled in. |

This dude is just nasty! | Agreed. That keyboard player was sick.
I just caught this show last week and I was really impressed. I think it's cool of Puff Daddy to open the door up for people like this. I really like the way the show is done.
And, I am really surprised at some of the humility I have seen from PD. I always thought him to be very arrogant, which he may be. But he comes across much more humble in this show than I have perceived him in the past. |

If he doesn't get the gig, I'll be surprised! Second thing is.......last night they asked him he had a 5 string and he said yes so look for him to be playing a 5 soon. Quote: |

Dude is really good and accomplished! Heavy set kid got eliminated last night and it didn't surprise me. A lot of these young kids play 'shed' style ALL the time and never really learn how to just play in the 'pocket'. He also couldn't read.

Puffy is a VERY successful entrepreneur and goes after what he wants to do. If ppl have ever seen his life story interview or read about it, they would understand. Like I said, Im not a fan, but when alot of ppl talk dislike about a person (esp. about bassists on TB) I like to check them out for myself.

I thought even to myself, maybe I'd have a good chance, til I saw Tim "Rawbiz" Williams get interviewed . I also take it that not many of you have heard of him seeing that Im the first to mention him, so I will help yall out lol. I dig Jamereo, but if Tim doesnt win, I'll be amazed.
Not the best audio, but you can hear him still: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e8IE7eT_8Uo
And for the kill, listen to "Caught Up" and "He Loves Me" Snippet http://www.myspace.com/rawbiznesentertainment

I remember being in NY a couple of years ago and there was a huge advert for PD's cologne or something in the middle of Times Sqaure.
I just remember being absolutely amazed that someone would be that comfortable with a massive picture of themselves up on a billboard like that.
This show has given me a new level of respect for him. He seems much cooler than he has come off in the past. Before I kind of branded him (whether fairly or not) kind of like a Kayne West. And I don't think that was a fair assessment on my part. |

Are you saying they are not part of the competition and there for show or there are a number of 'ringers' also competing?

| | | If the MD's asked Jamero to break out a 5, I hope he comes out with a sunburst American Standard PBass-5!!!!!!!
Just jokin'!!!!!!! But this looks like Jamero (bass) and Joy's (drums) gig to lose!!!!!!!!
As for Did, say what you want about him, but that dude's a hard worker, and very much earned his hustle.....I mean hustles!!!!!!!!!
