Hi everybody...I've always read every time that I run into a Patitucci's bio, that he did some work with Bon Jovi...does anyone know the exact track(s) name (s) in which he was involved? thanks

I wouldn't wanna hear BonJovi with Patitucci. Well maybe it could be fun to hear a little bit of sportsjazz in Living on a Prayer? |

but it says that he has worked with them in the past, so you probably have already listened to him without noticing in some BJ song

It's good to see JBJ act as a patron of the arts. He should do it full time. |

| | | I am far from a Jon Bon Jovi fan, but I remember (back in '81-'82), when "(She's a Little) Runaway came out. There was a rumor that the singer (Bon Jovi) only hired local (East Coast) talent from a list of working studio musicians. He supposedly had songs to record, but NO BAND.
Could Patitucci have possibly been one of the original bassists (in the studio) for BJ's first release? |

I did, however, find a big shout-out to Hugh McDonald on every Bon Jovi release prior to his joining the band. I have always believed in the theory that Hugh played on all the records but Alec got credited.
Anyway, I have one early, pre Bon Jovi CD called 'John Bongiovi - The Power Station Years 1980 - 1983.' It was put out by his cousin Tony Bongiovi a couple years ago and is some of Jon's early work. There are no credits listed on it so it's possible that Patitucci could have helped out on that.

There was an article about it in Bass Player. I'm sure he was well payed but it must have been nice for him to finally get recognition for his work. Check it... http://www.bassplayer.com/article/hu...e/oct-05/13820

Hugh is definitely one of the most overlooked players out there. He also did some work with Alice Cooper in the studio in the late 80s/early 90s. You can hear more examples of his fun-to-play basslines on "Poison" and "Hey Stoopid". My all time favorite Hugh/Bon Jovi line is "Born To Be My Baby" from the New Jersey record. LOTS of movement from beginning to end on that one!

So if it's true that BJ only used local east coast players, that would rule out JP by default. |
