What do you guys think of him?

He's the bassist from the band Live. I've always thought he was the most under appreciated bassist I'd ever heard, but I saw them Live the other night and now I know it for sure. He was incredible live.

Anyone else familiar with his stuff?

I played a lot of his stuff in cover bands back in the 90's, I always dug his playing! I like how he matured from mostly slapping on their first EP to playing more fingerstyle later on because the songs called for it. Great band all around, from songwriting to playing.......they seemed to be doing it for all the right reasons.

Great player... I was just talking about him tonight. I had "Mental Jewlery" ordered 2 months before it was released.

I've loved his playing since hearing Mental Jewelry. I've liked subsequent albums less and less since then, but have always thought him a very tasteful player.

I first got into them in the early 90's... they were somewhat considered a hometown band back then at PSU. I still think Pain Lies and Water Boy are some extra tasty bass lines.

I love Live... Patrick is a very tasteful player with great tone. My band does some of their songs and they're always fun to play. They're here in South Africa at the moment, coming to my area on Monday so I'm jumping up and down ticket in hand right now

Exactly!

He is a great player , I agree Dave each passing Live album gets worse but Patrick's playing stays solid.
