Paul McCartney is THE bassman!

I love his playing, we do quite a few Beatles numbers in my band and his basslines are fun as hell!

Learn ALL MY LOVING?

Try playing bass and singing it at the same time! Paul did it like he was drinking water.

What's the name of this song at 7:15? That's the song I mentioned earlier in the thread about how impressed I was with his playing and singing

This is my favorite aspect of his bass playing. The lines, as has been mentioned often, are not as simple as he makes them sound, yet they're so much fun, and he's clearly having fun playing them. And all the while singing without missing a beat! Very infectious, and a joy to listen to.

The Beatles were into chords/harmony and Paul's basslines supported the harmony. He played bass like a songwriter. Not to say he wasn't a good riffer and groover, he was those too.
Definitlly tastfull.
