Sloppy, no.

I just didn't find the composition very smooth, but that man can play!

I would hardly call that a composition, more like amazing feats. This dude is a beast and can play anything... any style any tempo. Envy is indeed the root of all evil.

He's a beast. I just wish he would include some english subtitles and explain what this level concept is.

that takes talent to play like that but it is not very pleasant to listen to.

My buddy and I actually starting laughing out loud as soon as that guy started playing in that vid.

...and the more we watched it, the funnier it got!

My friend and I had to shut it off. We couldn't take any more of it. It was like listening to two computers talk in binary code. What song would that fit into? Oh....wait......I know........."Fire and Rain" by James Taylor (yeah, you know, the re-slapped version).

Its that ESPRESSO!

I meant to post this one above, he misses one of his harmonics, I think they sound darned sweet myself...

YouTube - - MAMA FUNKY - By B6 SERINO

here is the first one I saw of his years ago (he took them all down and reposted them recently) which had nearly a million hits, still the best. when I was watching at first I was who is this tough guy? then my jaw was downstairs somewhere rolling around.

YouTube - SLAP LEVEL 1-7

and these I think are amazing ideas - especially the first one. that's what these clips are - ideas to use when writing. albeit brilliantly executed ideas:

YouTube - level 8 - 12 <-- also check out the Peavey T-Max head in the background - nice

What's up with the "levels"... is playing an instrument suddenly a video game? (no guitar hero comments please)... playing music is an art (not to sound pretentious) not a competition... nothing about this is particularly musical... I don't get the point... perhaps someone can enlighten me.

That's my question too. Clearly there's a point to it, and it seems to be a working system judging by his skill (or level?).
