I just discovered this group a couple weeks ago. I bought a record on recommendation from a friend. It's been two weeks and I've since bought everything they've put out and dl'd some bootleg live stuff. These guys have a super cool sound and Pete Shand is a very very very groovy player.

From what I understand he plays Fender Precisions and various Ampeg rigs. He's got that smooth, round, vintage P tone and he sits really well in the mix of everything. You get a bonus on some of the live stuff cause he gets loose and plays a lot more than on the record.

Really smoking group!! I recommend all funk, r&b, groove, and jazz players check them out.

+1, definitely a groovy cat and those guys have a real cool sound, they're in the wave of the new old school instrumental funk. Sadly, they came through Wilmington this past weekend, but I missed it cause I had to make some music of my own.

Awww man.... At least they came to your town though. They only gig they're playing near is one state away at a huge festival and tickets are about $150. I'd definitely prefer to see them in a club setting.
