Photos of George Porter Jr. LIVE!

Recently I had the opportunity of photographing George Porter Jr. at a very intimate restaurant setting. These photos are from a show at the Regattabar at the Charles Hotel in Cambridge, MA. I was sitting about 8 feet in front of him. Without question this was a dream come true for me - being a photographer and bass player. Needless to say, they absolutely rocked the house. I spoke to him briefly afterwards and he's the nicest guy. My only disappointment was that he wasn't playing his famous worn out P bass, I really wanted to see that magical instrument. He was playing out of an SVT Classic and an 8x10 Ampeg Cab. There were a few EBS pedals involved also. He sounded so powerful. I highly recommend seeing him if he's ever performing within 100 miles of you. Hell, I'd fly out to New Orleans to see him again. Enjoy the view...
