The second amp was probably a spare in case one blew. They played live, and a lot of bands won't risk that on late night TV anymore.

Mmmm...I loves me some Pino Palladino licks. I love his lines for the John Mayer Trio stuff. Always good.

that's his standard live rig for the JMT. it's not like he has to lift anything, why wouldn't he have it? even if it's just for looks and only half of its doing anything?

Love it! The Trio just makes incredible music, period. They work wonderfully together. John, Steve and Pino are it!

This clip shows why Pino is one of my absolute favorite bassists. So in the pocket and grooving that it's mind-blowing!

This.

But I have to admit, I had my headphones in my TV and had a hard time hearing Pino..

Meyer is an awesome player. But some of those chord choices didn't feel right. IMO. Pino was great, as always!

+10000!

It's great to see this kind of performance. The sad truth is, Mayer is one of the few that gets any coverage. I'm sure it is because of his youth and popularity with the Hollywood crowd. Plus, Conan always did have some great groups on his show (before the Tonight Show). I remember he had Gov't Mule on his show one time and they were great.

Of course I'm an old codger and just don't go for most of this canned, over process, lifeless stuff being passed off as music. The energy of the Trio (all three members) was refreshing and cool!

Thanks for sharing.

There was one chord in there he hung on too long to. Other than that great cover.

Right. And John writes good songs, but this band just gets up and plays! I wish there were more bands stretching within the context of pop music like this.

I know there is a lot of hatred against john mayer, but i am really happy to see people still pulling off those kind of solos--it seems like those kind of solos went the way of the dinosaur if you ask me.

I still love them though

Some people have a love/hate thing with Mayer? (I like him)

But, the Trio kicks major butt.

Pino & Steve are the s**t.

They groove hard, all the time.

Well, the video doesn't work anymore!

If you click the link, or search it on youtube, it comes up with this:

This video is not available in your country.

That sucks!
