Are my eyes playing tricks on me ? , I was watching the multi-angle cam on John Mayers alive in L.A DVD chosing the Pino Palladino option for " who did you think I was ? " and couldnt help but think Pino`s neck joint was large enough to park a car in , surely a multi thousand dollar Bass for a player of his calibre wouldnt have that problem ?? |

It was a more an observation than a gripe , just thought a bass that price would be perfect , im sure people who say they dont worry about it would sure use it as a negotiating point if they were buying , funilly enough Bass player Magazine and the like always comment on neck pockets as if it IS a major point of quality manufacturing ....hmmmm. |

Where did you get the DVD? Is it worth it (from a bassists point of view)?

There is a multi angle option for one song only of either Steve or Pino . Not really a "bass porn" DVD , but quality playing nevertheless . Pino comes on again later in the concert and plays with Johns Bass player ....cant really tell whos playing what . |

I have the DVD but never checked out any special features and didn't know there were multi angles at all. I loaned it to my buddy so I couldn't go check, but if there was multi cam for all of them I'd have to run over, grab it and spend a couple days studying.

| | | | Fender's tech dept says that the mating surface is all that matters..not the the side gaps...i have given up on obsessing over bass crap...it is just not worth it. |

The main bass is fretted, isn't it?

Is he playing a fretless bass here or not?
Some shots the board looks flat, other times I think I see frets.
I also can't make up my mind whether or not the slides sound fretted or fretless.
Insight?
