| | | | Hi everyone, I'm new to the forum and live in Pittsburgh. I have a bass and enjoy playing but have never had lessons. I have tried to find teachers but they always turn out to be guitarists who own basses and not really bass instructors. I love jazz, classical, rock etc and would love to find a good teacher in the area. I have tried google searching and craigslist with no luck. Anyone in the Squirrel Hill, Shadyside, Oakland area interested in giving lessons? |

I also know teachers in the area ( I work in shadyside ), but what exactly are you looking for learning wise because a lot of the guitar teachers around here are really good if you are just starting out. |

I see you looked at CL and struck out, not really just keep looking. I could easily help on the technique, jamming, and song styles but the theory and reading part...lol, no I have been playing way too many years to remember all that stuff beyond "heres a song with a bassline we need you to play in 2 days - now play it". |

Used to play Club Laga, Graffiti Showcase, Metropol and Nicks Fat City back in the day. Pretty sure they're all shut down now. Even tho I've lived and worked in Philly for the past 8 years, I still bleed black and gold. Can I be in the club? That would be sweet. |

| | | | I grew up in Cranberry Twp. Went to Seneca Valley HS and played shows all over town until 2010 when I relocated to North Carolina. You have no idea how much I miss the burgh. Primanti's is ALWAYS my first stop every time I come back. |

My son took up guitar last summer and kept dragging me into the stores and I figured I'd best participate or be bored.
Never could get my fingers to function on a guitar, but a bass - that I can work with!
Still a newbie, absorbing tons and seeing steady progress. But most of all - having fun! |

Laser Blades! We got on the Local Pittsburgh Rock Compilation in 1996, and the band broke up clear back in 1981. What happens in Pittsburgh stays in Pittsburgh, NO? |
