Jamerson was a key Architect of the Motown sound as he was house bassist for the label from 1959-1972. James has already been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland and the Musicians Hall of Fame in Nashville, but he has not been honored in his home state of South Carolina. This petition is to have James Jamerson inducted into the South Carolina Hall of Fame. Click link below, sign, and spread the word! http://www.petitiononline.com/jjsch334/
Thanks,

Bass players always get the short end of the stick. Jamerson was one of my biggest influences but I only knew him as the bass in those MoTown records until I read an article about him about 20 years ago.Mine was the 25th signature. We need more. |

| | | | Done deal, my friend!!!! As I stated in the comments section. I grew up in Detroit during Motown's heyday and that music was the background soundtrack to my early life. James deserves it. As a matter of fact, I looked up where his grave is in Detroit and where I work is not far from the cemetery. I think I'll stop and pay him a personal tribute during the Christmas season..........Wow!
