Poll: Cliff Williams or Adam Clayton

OK... let's say you are a producer and you find out that Cliff Williams and Adam Clayton are both not only available, but want to work on a meat and potatoes rock project with you producing (not playing). Who do you choose, and why?

This is obviously a spinoff from the Billy Sheehan/Dave LaRue poll.

So who would you choose?

Cliff. I just like AC/DC better.

Clayton. When he does play bass-forward lines, he plays some catchy stuff - ex. New Year's Day. I like his tone too.

Meat and Potatoes... Cliff. Overall I like Clayton better, but Cliff to me is the definition of a meat and potatoes rock bassist.

I'd pick Adam so I could tell him off about U2 being around 20 years longer than they should have.

I have a friend that saw Cliff warm up before a gig. He is apparently a very good player.

Clayton? Luckiest multimillionaire musician in the world IMO.

P.s. I did a corporate gig and we played Wonderful Day by U2... Easy as hell, but man what a fun bass line to play!

I'd pick Clayton. He writes catchier lines that are still simple and yet completely in the pocket.

That would also depend on the track(s) that they're playing to....... What genre? Is it Jazz? Is it Stoner doom? Is it R&B?

Cliff is a much better bassist than he lets on with AC/DC, plus he's airtight and rock solid.
