| | #1 in Bass Droppings | | | | | Poll: Cliff Williams or Adam Clayton OK... let's say you are a producer and you find out that Cliff Williams and Adam Clayton are both not only available, but want to work on a meat and potatoes rock project with you producing (not playing). Who do you choose, and why?
This is obviously a spinoff from the Billy Sheehan/Dave LaRue poll.
So who would you choose? |

Clayton? Luckiest multimillionaire musician in the world IMO.
P.s. I did a corporate gig and we played Wonderful Day by U2... Easy as hell, but man what a fun bass line to play!

Adam played the wrong song one time live and never heard it.
I'll hire Cliff please.
I do like u2 though and Adams lines.... But have you ever heard Adam improvise or make up his bass parts? It's an effort to listen to.... It takes him a while to make music from it. In the end it's great.... But he's not exactly quick at coming up with bass parts that are releasable. Based on the u2 special double cd that had lots of rehearsal jams and early versions of songs in it back in the 90s...

I like Clayton's tone, and his playing fits the songs...but I'm not really a U2 fan.
On a side note: We play at A LOT of Irish bars, and once the night is over the bar tenders feel the need to absolutely crank U2 (louder than we were just playing). I need to wear ear plugs just to pack up. I hate it.
