Post-punk / New Wave Bassists Club

Fassa Albrecht and I have decided to take the bold move of creating a Post-punk/New Wave Bassists Club.

This is inspired by the two following threads:

Peter Hook's equipment

Bass Heroes of Post-Punk

If any of these players inspired you, please join us!

The 80s may be gone, but the music lives on

She drinks from the fountain of youth. Did you see their new live DVD "Dreamshow"? It's great, even though the absence of the big Mr. S is obvious.

I was heavily inspired by Tracy Pew (Birthday Party), Steve Severin, Peter Hook, Les Pattinson (Echo & the Bunnymen) and Dave Allen (Gang of Four, Shriekback), Geoff Archer (early Hunters and Collectors), Mick Karn, Algis Kizys (Swans), Will Heggie (early Cocteau Twins), Paul Webb (Talk Talk), the great Steve Handley from The Fall, even Stephen Mallinder from Cabaret Voltaire, as well as a host of earlier punk and later post-punk bassists.

Can I join up?

Alright Mr. Muddslide! Some great players you mentioned there, I think we spent a lot of the 80s listening to the same stuff. How did I forget about Paul Webb? I have all those Talk Talk CDs permanently on rotation in iTunes.
