And YES. This bass is very intense. Love mine.
Is that the amber finish?!? God really works in marvelous ways. I was about 100 short, it was already on sale for 1099 because it was used, and I got home from school that same day that I put it on layaway and there was a hundred dollar check from my church and a card saying that they hoped not to compensate me for my service but bless me in this time of giving! This thing looks brand new, not a scratch and the amber finish is beyond gorgeous!

Yessir they are! That 3-band EQ is SO versatile, I can get the fretless sound but when I crank that pot pan to the bridge pickup and turn the mids up its a whole nother world

haha thanks!

Actually, my wife's uncle got remarried a couple of years ago at a Cowboy-themed destination wedding in Nevada. It would have been too soon!

Wow, Steve, you certainly do lead an event packed life! The interesting part would be finding out how much glory it brought God (people who were 'looking in' so-to-speak being shown the power He has!).

But I'm glad you didn't recommend it as a sure-fire way to prepare for a worship session!

I can say it was definitely worth the wait! And also remember that He will provide when the time is right. khutch - I know where you are coming from. I've got a few tapes and records I need to get into mp3 form myself. Haven't unpacked the turntable since we moved 5 years ago.

Had a lot of fun playing a Christmas concert with my son, my daughter-in-law, and our drummer. Unfortunately the bass was kind of boomy when the sound guy got there and I think he overreacted. There is no audible bass in the songs I've listened to so far. Sigh! Bought a usb microphone just to get a good room sound recording, too.

There might be another chance after Christmas.

Thanks, mkandolf. I am truly blessed being able to play at church. I quit the long-haired rock-n-roll band in '94 when I decided it was time to settle down, get married, and start a family, all real blessings. Helping with a child's delivery/birth might be the only true miracle of God most of us will ever witness until the last day when we join Him. Steve may have gotten to witness one and been able to share God's grace and comfort as well. Wow......
I was in a pretty serious car accident in '82..... Dislocated hip, multiple skull fractures, swelling of the brain, comatose for 13 days, I know there is a reason He let me live.
It is still a humbling experience every time I get on stage and thank Him for everything first.....
Gotta go. Have to get up early and take my dad to the Heart Hospital in Indy early AM for a heart catheter. Please pray for him....

The vestry meeting went well, and my fears about the insurance funds being "reallocated" turned out to be unfounded. Worship leader, myself and two vestry members will recruit two other people from the congregation to help us define the requirements for the replacement system, research the components that will meet those requirements and submit a proposal for approval at the next meeting. All very agreeable and reasonable with no misunderstanding. So now we get to see how far we can stretch the insurance money

The only downer was that I had to sit through the discussion for next year's budget before my agenda item came up

Great news. Glad it worked out.

Thank You, Lord, for graciously answering that prayer.

Yes they are.. I thought my 2008 was as good as it gets fender wise..and then the 2012 spent a week convincing me to sell the 2008...and I did.

WAY OFF SUBJECT....Sorry. I am sure this has been asked a million times, but I can't seem to locate it.
What song (P&W Only) do you find to be the most challenging?

Thanks in advance.

The one the pastors ask us to do 20 seconds before service starts that none of us have ever heard before.

Been there.

It's a little better now that we use Planning Center and Music Stand. The WL can just update the service over WiFi and we all have the change in about a minute.

any song led during devotion by someone that doesn't actually sing with the choir. We have to find the key they're closest to, guide them to it, then every turnaround is a guess because they don't actually know how to count bars.
that said I love doing it because it forces us to listen intently versus just playing a gospel 145 half awake

The one where I see the guitarist break out in a sweat.... usually any hymn where the chords change every 1/8th note (or thereabouts) and the key changes at least 3 times in the verse!

.... but why do I get the nagging feeling this isn't quite the answer you were looking for

It is a mega-thread, there is little that is off topic here.

For our team it would be the Fred Hammond arrangement of This Is The Day when I have to bring everything my limited skill set has to the table. If your definition of P&W is more limited then a crossover group Israel & New Breed's You Are Good. But in that case our guitarist can cover me.

So, why can't I find a tab for This Is The Day?
