I KNOW that it still please Our Lord, as it comes from my heart!!!! I just don't want it to hurt others ears, so I do it at home, alone.

NO ONE likes my singing...GEESH I AM HORRIBLE!!!
I am currently working on "Seven Cities of Gold " as I LOVE Geddy Lee. Got ALL the notes down, for sure, just working on the cadence (SP).

You don't want to sing praises now? What are you going to do then? I get tired of seeing people just stand there with their mouths closed while others sing their hearts out and the worship team including sound tries to lead everyone in worship. I hate it even worse when you know there's people that come in late because worship's just not their thing.
oops.

/END RANT | WORSHIP IS THE MAIN REASON I go to Church. I sing in church. We just stand in an area where as few people as possible have to be bothered by it. My wife and kids sing wonderfully!!!
I do AGREE with you!!! It is a house of Worship, not a social club.

/END RANT | Another perfect example of the use of "if-when"
But your final line says it all; if worship is "not their thing", Heaven is going to be.... hell?

A couple weeks ago for a post thanksgiving sale I picked up the UM3x-RC from Westone and have been using them during worship sets through our Aviom system at church and our house of prayer. They were suggested by one of my friends and worship leaders who used them for several months before encouraging me to purchase my drummer also has these.
I am impressed at the balance of the over all tone that come from these wonderful earphones. These are overall a very balanced sound signature but of course if you choose to the bass can be cranked and they handle it well. For sound isolation they are very good especially when using the comply tips.
Comfort is an essential thing to any iem and for being universal these fit perfectly in my ear and very comfortably for long periods of time. Most weeks I am playing 4 or so 2 hour sets and haven't complained once, except for the sound of my bass coming through so cleanly that the tone of it individually left much to be desired.
Thumbs up from this bass player. Others thoughts?

/END RANT | Some people like to sing. Other's like to listen. Some people don't like to sing. Big deal. You arn't closer to the Lord if you do, and aren't less if you don't.
Why judge by appearances? Why hate? I play in some places where the people just sit there.....some where they're all jumping up and down. Whatever.
This whole business of judging "stick in the muds" is a bad one and indicative of spiritual immaturity. Don't confuse what you prefer with God's Spirit. |

Thumbs up from this bass player. Others thoughts? | Once I changed the tips on my Yamaha's it was MUCH better - fit, comfort and sound.
It's amazing how much you notice/hear when you use IEM's. I have some "tightening up" to do on a few things. I like it though. I am guessing I will improve simply from wearing these and actually hearing all that I am doing - good and not so good. |

I'm using the Ultimate Ears TripleFi 10 ear buds and they are pretty good. Of course, the Ultimate Ears 18 Pro Custom's would probably sound better, but at over 6x what I paid for mine, they should sound better!

You are around my stepson's age. He's a musician too...Andrew Weege. He's a career Marine, and plays in military jazz bands, big bands, and handles musical instrument purchasing and repairing...besides all the Marine stuff.

Then a friend let me try the Shure SE425's. They were so much better than what I was using, and better than the other Shures that I'd tried (including the first-gen E5's), that after checking prices, I decided to skip the Westones.
Never got to hear them, and now I don't want to, as I've got other things I'd rather be GAS'ing over.
Still, from everything I've read, the UM3x's are just enough better than the SE425's to justify the price difference... |

I was there only for a few of my "early" years, from '76 - '82. My dad was a pastor at Trinity Lutheran Church (LCMS) and I attended, of course, Trinity Lutheran School, 1st - 6th grade. I went back once in my mid teens for the churches centennial celebration, but haven't been through since.
Ready for this to maybe get even more weird? My grandmother, on my father's side, was a Weege, and I know that it's not the most common name on the planet. So . . . your stepson wouldn't happen to have any family roots in the SE MN area by chance, would he? Just curious as I may have met him at a family reunion or something many years ago.

Sunday morning on lead guitar (and MD mic) with the youth:
The Time Has Come (with extended intro)
Take It All
I Surrender
We The Free
Then 4:30pm a solo acoustic set in the foyer. I'm thinking:
Angels From The Realms of Glory
Come See The King (self-penned on Monday)
O Little Town of Bethlehem
Hark The Herald Angels Sing
At 5:00 it's another acoustic set with a group of singers (someone else is playing guitar for this one, I'm just singing):
Joy To The World (Unspeakable Joy)
Silent Night
O Come Let Us Adore Him
Then at 6:00 it's into the main hall for the big carol service, and I'm singing with the choir, accompanied by the brass band. It's always a packed hall as if there's one time of the year that people will come to church, it's for a carol service!
Christmas morning and I'm back on bass (and MD mic):
Angels From The Realms of Glory
O Come All Ye Faithful
Joy To The World (Unspeakable Joy)
For Unto Us A Child Is Born
We Wish You A Merry Christmas
Aaaaand relax!

Dan K. | U.E. 18? as in 18 drivers? The comply foam tips are spot on just a little pricey. I have been considering going in with a bunch of friends and getting a big order together to minimize the cost. Quote:

I used a 30% off deal and the amount that I have been playing to justify it, I still always run into the issue of turning the aviom up to loud, not sure I can fix that issue.
