I know a lot of you will file this thread in your "no ####, Sherlock" folder.

But, man... Primus sure does put on a heck of a show. One of the top 5 concerts I've ever seen, without a doubt!

I wouldn't say I've been a Claypool fanatic, all these years. (He's always a good call, down at the shop when we need some get-off-your-butt music.) Seeing the whole thing live, now I REALLY "get" it.

My only criticism is, the guitar was actually buried in the mix. First time I've ever experienced that! I must admit, I sort of savored it in a "payback" way. But the guy was there, trying to do a thing and I couldn't really hear him. I say, bump him up 6dB or make the band a duo.

In spite of that, it was an amazing show. From now on, I'll be going to see Les whenever I get a chance.

Glad you enjoyed the show!

I was the world's largest Primus fanboi until I saw them live. Was when they first got back together for the "Seas" tour, and it was huge letdown. Mix was terrible, no stage presence, and instead of playing more songs there was way, way too much "jam band" junk going on. Lots of pseudo politico musings as well (we were in Austin, after all) so was just a lame show.

Was hoping for a lot more. Oh well.

I've seen Primus probably 10 times. Everyone of them was a great show. Never any problems with the mix.

Everyone gets an off night sometimes I guess.

I've seen them twice this year and have one more lined up in Chicago on the 2nd. Jay Lane is really bringing the thunder, they're definitely back with a vengeance.

They played Coattails of a Deadman at your show, you lucky dog. That's the second time they've ever played it live.

My wife and I are seeing them on Friday in Seattle. Last time I saw them was 15 years ago in Dallas. Blew me away then. I've been a fan since Frizzle Fry came out and that show just sealed the deal and made me a life long fan. My wife has never seen them live and enjoys their music but I don't think she has any idea what is in-store for her.

I've seen primus about 6 times. I've seen them with Tim, Brain and now finally with Jay on drums, and i have to agree Larry is way out of the mix this tour. Les sounds as good as ever and once Jay got warm man it was like the love child tim and brain up on that stage. I agree lets turn larry up!

I just saw them last month here in Charlottesville. Somehow our little city pulls in an absurd amount of shows.

I saw Primus years ago. When the crowd started in with "Primus sucks", I was standing near a girl who apparently had never seen Primus. She got very offended and wanted to fight the whole crowd!

Hell yeah! I just saw them in NY not too long ago (with Gogol Bordello!). I'm a huge fan, but that was my first time seeing them live (I'm gonna try to see them again in Philly, if I have the cash).

I had a great view at the end of the show, just in time for Tommy the Cat. Gotta say, it really doesn't get better than that. There are a lot of songs that I could learn with practice, and other songs that I can see how they're played and how difficult they are, but I've never been able to figure out Tommy. I've looked at tabs, watched videos, watched slo-mo videos, and listened to it countless times, and I'm still convinced that it's a magic trick.

Also got to see Over the Falls on Les' sweet sweet dobro bass. Yeah, it was a great show.

Yeah..Les described that period of Primus as "going back to an old girlfriend to realize it's just more of the same". Tim sucked the life out of Primus. If you haven't seen them since, check them out with Jay Lane now. They're like two different bands compared to before. Jay really brought a whole new vibe to the band. Everyone on stage is smiling and having a blast. I've seen them three times in the past 3 months and Jay just really blows me away every time. No wonder he's Les's favorite drummer.

Super stoked for the new album. Les is happy doing Primus, something I thought I'd never see again. Said the past couple months is the most he's ever rehearsed in his life, they're coming up with all this great stuff, and they really can't wait to record the new album.

They played Jimmy Kimmel Live last week, but the episode doesn't air till tomorrow night. Check it out.

I see them on the 8th at the Tower.

I'm psyched up.

Been listening to Primus for a few years now--the music is engrained in me and I love it to death.

I'm a bigger fan of Les than I am of Primus, I admit, but the band itself is something special. Ler really is a talented guitarist--listening to his solos and how he fits himself right in with Les and Lane proves that. I love the sound they make as whole, still. The bold, murky, satirical and sarcastic music that stirs the little cynical cockles of my heart and warms them up is a feeling I don't experience with any other group.

I can't wait for their new album! I've only heard Jay Lane with Sausage way back when; it'll be interesting to see how he sounds with Ler instead of Huth.

It took me weeks to get Tommy the Cat.

Literally, weeks. I started off trying to get down the normal notes--left the muted notes alone until I thought I was ready.

Watching videos of Les playing it helped as well. Just watching his hand position and trying to find a good balance of weight on the thumb and fingers took a while as well.

It's a great song though. Once you've learned it and can get into it, you understand why Les does the little hop he does when he plays it. Tommy the Cat seems like a little ditty Les made up while playing it slow first, and then played it insanely fast afterwards, realized it was -too- fast then slowed it down to a sexy medium. I adore it. Now, if I could just get a guitarist who can shred half-decently and a drummer who could keep a beat...
