I am compliling an encyclopedia of professional female bassists who currently play (or used to play) rock music.
Parameters:
1. Must be pro or semi-pro (like ready to quit their day time job if the band takes off).
2. Must be rock music - any kind: original, surf, hard, metal, acid, punk, funk fusion, jazz fusion, experimental, even pop (but more rock than pop).
3. Musician or band must have exposure outside their own region (like, through released recordings and/or videos and/or touring). I.E., a band that is known only in the Pacific Northwest would not qualify, but a band that is known throughout the Northeast (including NYC, Philly, Newark and Boston) would.
Through seraching the Net I have already come up with a list of over 100 female bass players which includes all the usual suspects. I just don't want to miss anyone.
So, if you or someone you know would like to be included, please answer this post and then we can set up an e-mail thing so I can get the info I need (pesonal info not rquired, I just need info on the career as a musician).
Thank you.

She plays with the Adrian Belew Power Trio, and she's got tons of chops but uses them for good, not evil. Plus she's a real sweetheart, as evidenced by her participation on here. |

I was blown away by that Rockpalast live video! As a P bass guy (and a Lakland fanboy, some would say), that really pleased me. I gotta watch that yet again--and get the new album.
