Punch me in the face if you want, but i need this favor anyway!

Sign in to disble this ad
I say "Punch me in the face" because...... after 10 years of playing, I have ignored the word "Gospel" every time someone mentioned, and posted, until recently decided to find it out on youtube and WOOOW WHAT???

A whole Funk/Groove world!!! Just for what I was born!! Sorry people, here in my country that kind of music is uncommon..

So Please i Need some Big Names of Gospel bassplayers, or some link, or bands i don't know.. i need to start explore this world because i listen mainly to jazz fusion, but inside me, i like That kind of straight 4/4 Funk Groove!

Thanks

Kirk Franklin's "Brighter Day" and "When I Get There" are pretty nasty. Andrew Gouché is pretty much known as the first name in gospel bass so check him out.

There is a whole world to check out. Just do it. It's the best bass heavy music around.

You GOTTA check out:
Marvin Sapp - Thirsty
Marvin Sapp - Here I Am
Dorinda Clark-Cole - Take It Back (so many big bass cats just shredding all over this album)
Fred Hammond - Awesome God
Israel Houghton - Live @ South Africa
Israel Houghton - The Power Of One
Tye Tribbett & GA - Stand Out
Tye Tribbett & GA - Victory

What is gospel? I thought it just meant music that is religious

I don't know the bass players in this genre, but from a friend (and bass player) who is a huge gospel and reggae fan, Kim Burrell's music is held in very high esteem.
