What's your budget? | About €400 at the moment so I'm hoping to get either a new bass or combo amp. At the moment I have a tanglewood rebel 4k (p/j pickups) and a Hiwatt Maxwatt B15 |

I think any bass with a PUP in the sweet spot and some overdrive will get you in the ballpark, a VM Squier would be a good bet, as someone mentioned. If you go through a PA the VT and a cheap P-style bass should let you Go With the Flow. |

but to me, the qotsa sound is P Bass + VT
