Questions about Jaco!

Greetings! (Sorry for my bad english) Quick Questions about Jaco pastorius:

-He ever played slap?
-Always used fretless? never fretted bass?
-Which were his musical influences?

Jaco didn't slap in the contemporary style of Marcus Miller but more like an acoustic bass or like a drummer might for a percussive effect.
Jaco did most of his playing on fretless but did do a fair amount on fretted bass 30-40% of the time.
Jaco had very big ears even for a musician, he grew up in a place and time that had a lot of music happening. Listening to & playing jazz, rock, R&B, AfroCuban, Reggae, other Caribbean music as well as classical music. He played in all sorts of bands before he was famous and you could consider all of those styles and musicians as influences.

i'm far from a jaco historian [read nerd] but i thought he pretty much only used the fretless basses live [mostly], and had a personal preference for fretted.

anywho, who's to say what he used the most, we only have video and memories of mostly performances.

Yes he does. I think he mentions something about the strings wearing out his neck too much on his fretless to be playing it all the time.
