I like RATM, but Tims best work is definately best exemplified on the Audioslave cds. Tim is a great groove guy- but he really sounded fantastic on those discs... I hope that they reunite someday

his lines arent hard, so what? they're clever and they groove

good lines arent always hard and hard lines arent always good.

Simple but great lines, especially in Audioslave where he had more freedom to groove.

I saw Tom Morello the other night when he was in Boston for a show. A good friend of mine is playing bass on his Nightwatchman tour- Dave Gibbs who is actually a guitar player, used to front a great band called Gigolo Aunts. He had Juliana Hatfield's old Rickenbacker bass from her days in the Blake Babies. it's been under his bed for 15 years.

I really liked his playing on Evil Empire, but after that he went further and further away from the rawness that he had back then, and away from where I wanted to hear him. Now, I'm all for people evolving as musicians, but I just don't necessarily like where he went.

Also, why'd he have to go and smash a perfectly good 1977 Fender Jazz Bass?

he inspired me to start playing, with his simple lines it's kind of encouraging to the young player to be able to play those cool grooves. to this day i still love that little riff on the song take the power back(though my slapping is not very good, but i'm tryin')

I like Tim a lot as a bassist. I really like the fact that his lines groove and sound funky without him having to slap his bass.

I don't care for slap much...I used to.

Anytime I pull my bass out people are like: "get down on it man, slap that baby! can you play some chili peppers?" When I explain that i'm more of a finger style player, they act like I can't play, just because I won't slap.

I think if I ever heard someone say 'slap that baby'...I would end up making lewd gyrating gestures while spanking my bass.
