Don't you just hate it when a guitarist buys a £99 bass and thinks they can play it, just because they play guitar. They just play root notes and play with a pick. Im not condemming using a pick, but its one of my pet peeves when a guitarist thinks they're also a bassist.

Agreed. Just because someone knows where the notes are on the fretboard doesn't make them a bass player...there is so much more to it than that, but most non-bass players don't realize that.

i read in a magazine once a quote that summed it up perfectly.
"most guitarists can play on a bass, but they dont GET bass"

LOL: This is how I first started out playing bass! That was 12 years ago and I never looked back since.
