yeah it was on behind the music where they talked about les auditioning for metallica, les said he went in there joking about jamming on some isley brothers, they thought he was strange. les said something about going home and weeping like a baby when they turned him down. and james hetfield said something about he's too good, he's got his own thing

I still think Les should have come forward for the post-Jason auditions - him and Hetfield are huntin' buddies nowadays. It'd be good to see Les rocking out again - personally, I can take or leave his post-Primus projects.

BTW, Robert Trujillo can slap with Les. If you don't believe me, there is a import live album that he did with Ormond, Paul Simon's bass player.

There's some incredible slapping on the first few Infectious Grooves albums too, featuring Trujillo, plus, he worked his slap chops nicely into Suicidal Tendencies' sound when he was with them.

Suicidal Tendencies! That's where I heard the name Trujilo before! Thanks XO-bionic, I've been trying to remember that for awhile...

Because Wikipedia is the definitive be-all-end-all when it comes to information!

Les is too weird for metallica. They sold out and he wouldn't fit in with them anymore. Might have in the 80's.

Wiki is a poor resourse, at best, as the "information" contained there is user-contributed and not typically fact-checked.
