Are replacement nuts for MM Bongos easy to get hold of?

Sign in to disble this ad
I am considering tuning my Musicman Bongo down to low G (below B, which I BTW have already done with one of my 'wicks). However, this will probably require some filing of the nut, due to the sheer size of the thickest string (going for .175, I think). Hence, I'm wondering if it would be easy to get hold of a new nut, should I decide to reverse the process. Does anyone know?

Edit: D'oh! Wrong forum, please move.

I'm not sure, but I'd be interested to know in case I ever need a new one for my SR5.

Just go to any qualified repairman or luthier and they can make you a nut with no problem. You wouldn't want one "pre-cut" anyway, it is better that it is made for your instrument specifically. Doesn't cost a lot, usually $40-50.

EB customer service is always the best place to go for Music Man parts. They will probably get one out to you the day you call it in.
