Rick Huxley RIP

Bassist for Dave Clarke Five

Sucks. Was a big fan of him and his big fat wobbly English tone. Surprisingly, he used a Fender a lot of the time, though you'll see him with a bunch of different basses in their lip synched vids.

I was a big Rick Huxley fan back in the day. I loved his bouncy bass lines that gave the DC5 a lot of their kick. He also had some prominent bass lines on songs like Everybody Knows and Come Home that were - with a few exceptions, like Chas Chandler of the Animals etc - rare in those days. He was was the first bass player I saw use a Fender VI - on Ed Sullivan in the late 60's.
