It is indeed cynical times. The last thing I think about when seeing that head stone is if the family is getting a check from Rickenbacker.

Imagine 100 years from now when Rickenbacker is still making the same style bass in the same colors! Someone is going to stumble on the headstone and tell their children that this is where the inventor of the Rickenbacker bass is buried. I bought my first Ric today and now I need to find a way to get it yesterday.

Lighten up. Rick got the joke why didn't you? FYI, I have no actual knowledge of anyone getting paid for any advertisement.

I think that is pretty tasteful! I think it is from the cover shot of "Street Songs."

The word here in Buffalo was that the family wanted something bigger but the cemetery put a limit on the size and location. They were afraid that they would have a Jim Morrison type circus on their hands. After all he was a pioneer and still has a cult like following. His clubbing runs in Buffalo with Eddie Murphy were legendary. The headstone is a work of art. I have never seen anything like it. He came back to the Buffalo area near the end of his life after rehab and some serious jail time and tried to make a real impact in his old neighborhood. Wish he could have had a few more years.
