Ridiculous Pete Wentz Story

Sign in to disble this ad
So I work at a music store in Manhattan, and celeb clients are part of the daily routine, but this one takes the cake.

A dude walked over to the bass wall, picked up the Pete Wentz bass, and immediately brought it over to me, said he wanted it, just needed a case and some picks. I couldn't help but think he looked alot like Pete Wentz, but shook it off as a coincidence.

Sure enough, when he handed me his credit card, it was the Wentzster himself! Turns out he flew in from LA (he owns a bar near my store) and had no bass in the city! He was actually a really cool guy (I'm no huge Fall Out Boy fan, but he gets ripped alot on this site) and said he just didn't want to get seen playing another bass, that I shouldn't think he was just trying to pump his own sales or anything!

I'm pretty sure Pete Wentz buying the Pete Wentz bass created a rip in the space time continuum or something!

Sorry no pics, management gets on us for bothering the celeb customers for pics and such. Sometimes truth really is stranger than fiction tho.

My store is in Union Square (14th st and 4th ave), its a little store you may have heard of called Best Buy (I work in the musical instruments department, which some Best Buys have).

That's funny, because you always hear guys with signature stuff say "If I need one of my guitars, I can walk into any shop and grab one off the wall," but this is the first time I've heard of somebody actually doing it.

If you're allowed to answer, did he get any sort of discount for having his name on the headstock?

regardless of feelings for fallout boy, I think it's cool that he'll play his own bass--it seems to me that a lot of the signature basses out there are just copies of what the namesake actually plays, and the artist does actually play what the company is actually making.

kudos to that

hahahahahaha. this is one of the coolest things i've ever heard. Not only does he play his own bass, but he shops for guitars at best buy!! It's cool he was friendly. I hate when rock stars are dicks.

However, I still dislike fall out boy.

If you had a chance to kill Hitler, would you?

If you had a chance to castrate Pete Wentz by kicking him in the crotch so he doesn't contaminate the human gene pool, would you?

Paul, I'm pretty sure Hitler's dead.
And this *tapping* thing is WAAAAY beyond out of hand.
Otherwise, good one.

How old are you? 13? Grow up. Besides, our kids should all grow up to look like Pete Wentz. His life is made much simpler that way.

Tapping is the practice of smacking or kicking an unsuspecting guy in the nads for the fun & amusement of onlookers. I do not approve.

No, I am a gentleman, I'd do this in a highly mannered fashion, like duelling, but with high powered kicks to the groin.
