Yep, did that too.

You know, whenever you are talking music with non-musicians in the office and they ask you who the bass greats tht you admire are ..and you say Jaco Pastorius, Pino Paladino and Leland Sklar..and they give you that funny look.

I bought John Mayers new DVD. Pino absolutely kills during the trio set. Some of the best bass playing I have ever seen in a trio.

Wow! I always thought that was Pino on Untitled(How Does It Feel). I guess if anything, I'm extremely impressed by Raphael Saadiq. That's one of the most laid back lines I've ever heard - so behind the beat.

Pino's effects

i agree with everyone here, Pino is great. master playing, great sound, fine bass.
in that live in LA dvd, i spotted a couple of pedals in the floor next to him, but i couldn't tell what they were, anyone knows what he uses in the Trio?

I think Jordan produced that disc. I usually love Jordan's production (the two latest Patti Scalfia CD's sound AMAZING), but I really dislike the trio tone.

IMO of course.
The live cd almost sounds like a good bootleg to me.
